Fifty Shades of AMAZING….

Book Cover

So I’m sure by now everyone who is caught up in popular literature knows about the Fifty Shades trilogy by E.L. James and of course I had to indulge in it myself.  The trilogy starts off with Fifty Shades of Grey.  Anatasia Steele is a mousy, virginal, 21 year old introvert who loves literature  Her sweet personality is what makes her do a favor for a her roommate Kate. Her task, to interview Seattle’s youngest wealthy eligible bachelor Christian Grey.  While Ana is not a journalist she takes to the task and when she meets 27 year old billionaire Christian Grey she is sucked into his force-field of good looks, charm, and power.  She gets through the interview but not before she finds herself in awe of Mr. Grey and his allure.  However even after the interview she spends her time fantasizing about Grey outside of their interview.

While the book is written from Anatasia’s point of view, the reader can also see things from Christian’s perspective very clearly.  He is so captivated by Ana he seeks her out on a few occasions in order to make somewhat of an indecent proposal.  What the rest of the world doesn’t know is that Christian Grey indulges in the world of BDSM as a Dominant and wants Ana to be his Submissive.  We learn that Christian has never been in a committed relationship, he only practices BDSM sexual encounters, and in his world of rules and non disclosure agreements that Ana should probably stay away from him.

Now remember this is an erotic fiction novel so there is lots of sexual content so if you don’t like very detailed sexual encounters then Fifty Shades is not for you.  However the greatest parts of the book aren’t necessarily the sex scenes it is definitely the story.  Its a wonder to see how Ana really changes Christian.  She is the first woman to sleep in a bed with him, first woman to be photographed with him (he was the commencement speaker at her college graduation), and overall the first woman he’s ever been captivated by.

What makes Christian so easy to love is while he oozes sex appeal, power, and wealth… he is also a tortured soul with a dark past which includes life with a crack-addict mother until his adoption at 4 years old as well as having been seduced at 15 by one of his adoptive mothers friends, who ultimately introduced him into the world of BDSM.  Christian clearly tries to fight between his sordid past and trying to be a new man for Ana and his internal conflict makes him even more lovable to readers.  I’ll even admit, I could feel Christian’s pull of attraction just by reading but he also tugged my heartstrings.

Overall Fifty Shades of Grey is the introduction into Ana and Christian’s story filled with lust, control, power, money, and eventually love.  The author may not be the best writer but, if you like stories with interesting plot twists, sex, drama, and overall a good love story, give Fifty Shades a try!

Anonymous asked: and the second row?Sorry to bother..

No bother at all.  Good to know you are interested in the post.  The second row are the Chronicles of Nick series by Sherrilyn Kenyon.  The books are Infamous, Invincible, and Infinity. I think there are more books in the series but those are the three they had there. :-)

Anonymous asked: do you know what are the books on the third row are called i cant read it?

Oh sure.  The third row starts with a book called Eon.  The next three books are the books belonging to the Maze Runner Series by James Dashner (Maze Runner, The Scorch Trials, and The Death Cure) and the next book on the end is Diveregent by Veronica Roth, which I will be doing something on later. The last two books are Switched and Torn both by Amanda Hocking

Hope this helps!!

So while I am not going to devise a plan to end the world and somehow rule it under a controlled state hiding under the guise of Utopia, I have been reading and seeking out Dystopian Fiction Books.
I’ve come of of my reading retirement (thanks to my break from Twitter) and boy have I gone into a frenzy. It started with me getting around to reading The Hunger Games. I was so captivated by the story, the characters, and everything along with it I finished the whole series in a day and a half (if that). In a discussion with a classmate of mine I shared my interest in this wonderful genre and she pointed me in the direction of a book called Divergent which I will be doing a review on later on. Well I guess Walmart has caught on because I took this picture of the book display there. While I am doing a lot of reading via my iPad, I still might go and raid their shelves

Deadlocked…

… is the latest book from the Southern Vampire Series (a.k.a. The Sookie Stackhouse series) by author Charlaine Harris. The book is set to be released on May 1, 2012 at all major book stores, but one can pre-order it now on Amazon ( HERE).

Personally, I simply cannot wait to read this book. I’m kind of torn though… I mean it is the second to last book in this series. I know it must happen, but I don’t want the series to come to an end. I have so many questions… like… Will Sookie choose Bill? Will she choose Eric? Will she just choose to be alone? Will everything go back to normal and everyone (humans, other Supes, & Fae folk) learn to coexist in peace? I’m sure Charlaine Harris will wrap the book up in a way thats somewhat satisfying for the readers… I guess I’m just a tad anxious. Anywhobers, I shall be buying and absorbing this book thoroughly come May. Until then…

Happy Reading!!

Although I’ve had The Hunger Games in my possession for over a year, I am just now getting around to reading the series in its entirety (shame on me). 110 pages in and so far so good. I’m drawn in successfully and the book has kept my attention. =^_^= I am pleased and eager to find out how not only this first book, but how the entire series ends.
Ps. I know Aimee has already reviewed this series soooooo click HERE, HERE, & HERE for her thoughts.
